Origin
Usami Shiina is a girl who when she feels alone, feels like she’s going to die; this fear goes to the extent of not wanting to do anything alone. Because of this, she decided to start following the activities of Rentarou and his girlfriends.
Creation
Shiina was created by Nakamura Rikito (writer) and Yukiko Nozawa (artist), and she first appeared in Weekly Young Jump No. 14 from 2024, in the 168th chapter of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You.
The name Usami Shiina (宇佐美椎奈) is based on the japanese word for rabbit (うさぎ, usagi) and the -mi suffix (美) used in girl names in Japan.
Character Evolution
Appearance
Shiina has short black hair with two tall buns, which imitate the style of rabbit ears. She’s also seen wearing a black coat with a short skirt. Her coat also has rabbit inspired decorations, like having two rabbits in her coat’s front pockets.
Personality
Shiina considers herself to be someone with “kenophobia”, as empty spaces and single objects freak her out; for example, whenever she buys one thing, she later buys a bit more of stuff so that the original object isn’t alone or lonely.
Due to this kenophobia, Shiina also constantly seeks for crammed places, where she doesn’t feel alone at all.
