Origin
As Velvet Fox, Vanessa Crawford was a member of the Core, Michigan’s premier superhero team. Her daughter Cassia also displayed superpowers, and Vanessa hoped that they would one day be superhero partners. But Vanessa died when Cassia was twelve. Vanessa had left her a legacy, one that Cassia discovered a few days before she turned 18 and became Critter.

Velvet Fox was created by writer Tom Hutchison and artist Jose Luis.
Powers and Abilities
Velvet Fox had telekinetic abilities, powerful enough to stop a tsunami. The ears on her costume amplified her powers and were used for communication as well. Her belt buckle had a sophisticated artificial intelligence that helped control her tail, which was also part of the costume.
