Vincent Valentine

Origin

Vincent Valentine was originally a covert operative working for Shinra officially the Investigation Sector of the General Affairs Department, but also known informally as The Turks. Vincent was a bodyguard for Shinra scientists who worked on various projects in Nibelheim. Vincent would specifically work closely with Lucrecia Crescent, who he would develop feelings for. However another scientist, Professor Hojo would end up using Vincent in experiments, giving him bizarre powers and abilities, including functional immortality. Vincent would then enter a sort of hibernation, before being discovered decades later by a group of fighters attempting to save the world: Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Red XIII, Aeris, Cid and Yuffie. Vincent would join the group, believing he would met Hojo again.

Creation

Vincent Valentine is a fictional character designed by Tetsuya Nomura for the video game franchise Final Fantasy. Vincent first appearing in the Square Enix produced video game Final Fantasy VII released in 1997.

The character would also appear in surrounding franchise media and mediums, movies, art books, comics, animated movies and other video games.
