History
Wail was among a select group of holy knights that were chosen as the church’s champions against the vampiric plague of 1349. Like his brethren, he was gifted with dark powers to combat the undead; in his case, Wail received abilities related to the sense of sound. Though he used his powers in the cause of the church, he was sentenced, along with the other Warlocks, to imprisonment by those he fought to save.
During his centuries in the Ashen Realms, Wail’s powers mutated his body ever further as he grew in power, and the whispers of the living and dead drove him mad. He is nevertheless an invaluable agent to the other Warlocks, for he has access to wellsprings of knowledge that can aid them in their vengeful machinations.
After Vigil destroyed the Elemental Lords and altered the primal balance, Wail joined his brethren in returning to Earth.
Powers and Abilities
Wail’s powers are based on the sense of hearing. He is constantly bombarded by the voices of both the living and the dead; it has driven him utterly mad. On occasion, he is able to channel the screams of the anguished into a devastating sonic attack. Usually, he simply listens to their stories, giving him access to news, secrets, and knowledge that would be beyond the grasp of others. Among those secrets he has learned are some dark rituals and spellcasting.
