Origin
Jinni Dagal started as a nameless, gentle spirit on the grasslands of Africa. When Men began to encroach on his land and treat as if they were the only ones living on it, the spirit grew more fearful and hateful. Eventually, it possessed one of the Men and used his body to kill his tribe. When he learned there were more of his species, it continued to kill, growing more monstrous and grotesque with every kill. Thousand of years later, now called the War Devil, it was finally overwhelmed by men. However, his spilled blood infected those men spreading his hate through the population until the last two warriors faced each other.

The War Devil first appeared in Incredible Hulk (2023) #8 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein.
