Blue Tracer is a Golden Age comic character, created by Fred Guardineer and published by Quality Comics. First appearance was in Military Comics #1 in August 1941.
Blue Tracer first appeared in issues 1 thru 16 of Military Comics. The comic was acquired by DC Comics, along with the rest of Quality Comics in 1950’s. However the comic lapsed into public domain before that. The Blue Tracer has not been used by any company since his original publication, nor have his original adventures been reprinted, other than a Millennium Edition of its first appearance.

William “Wild Bill” Dunn is an American engineer working with the army in a secluded section of Ethiopia. While working, his team is attacked by a group of supernatural beings named the M’Bujies. They live in a fortress next to a volcano named Ras Dashon.The M’Bujies wound Dunn and kill his teammates. Dunn is rescued by “Boomerang” Jones, an Australian soldier who had been given up for death and is now fighting his own private war against the Nazis.
After Dunn regains his strength, the two men create a super-vehicle out of captured Nazi equipment that they name the Blue Tracer. It can become a tank, an airplane or a submarine. They use it to destroy the M’Bujies and escape the jungle. They also rescue an unnamed white women from being sacrificed.
Bll Dunn and Boomerang Jones travel the world and the Axis forces during the rest of the war, with Dunn at the head and Jones as his sidekick. Neither Dunn nor Jones have any superpowers but Dunn is a good fighter and a skilled engineer. The Blue Tracer allows Dunn and Jones to travel on land, under the sea and in the air. It has many weapons and can deflect small arms fires.
The last appearance of the Blue Tracer was in Military Comics #16.
