Captain Wings Wendall is the best officer in the American Military Intelligence Service, and during the war the Army Air Corp who early in his career is dubbed the Greatest Pilot in the World, before the war he flies a red and yellow bi-plane capable of landing and taking off on water, after the war he soon switches to a Mustang fighter plane.
First appearing in 1939 in Smash Comics #1, and enjoying a long run there, Wings Wendall is one of the first ace pilots to come not from the newspaper’s funny pages, but the new media of comics.
