DC Animated Universe
A vastly different version of Toyman appears in the DCAU, starting in Superman the Animated Series and later in Static Shock. This version was Winslow Schott Jr. His father was a toymaker who wanted to build a factory, but lack of funds prevented this. When Bruno Mannheim backrolled the factory, he used it as a front for a numbers racket. When the police busted the racket, Schott Sr. was sent to prison despite not knowing about it and died in prison. Schott Jr. spent the rest of his adolescent life going from one foster home to the next. By the time he reached adulthood, he dedicated his life to revenge against Manneheim and perfecting his artificial companion Darcy.
He appears prominently in the Justice League episodes “Hereafter” and “Alive!“. In the former, he builds a deadly ray weapon that sends Superman into the future, though Superman’s friends believe him vaporized. In the latter, he is the pilot of the Secret Society’s space ship. When the villains split into two opposing factions, he takes out Killer Frost with a lethal yo-yo. Later, when fighting Parademons, he uses exploding Nerf darts against them.
Supergirl
Winn Schott’s first appearance, before the comic books, was in the pilot episode of Supergirl which premiered on October 26th 2016. He is portrayed by Jeremy Jordan. He and Kara Danvers work together at CatCo in National City. Winn mostly works in the I.T. department and has a high I.Q. When Kara shows Winn her alien powers, he immediately helps her develop her Supergirl identity. Later in the series, his past is revealed when his father, Toyman, escapes from jail and seeks his son out.
The Flash
Jeremy Jordan portrays an alternate version of his character in the “Crisis On Earth-X” crossover event in the Arrowverse. In Crisis On Earth-X Part 3, Winn Schott of Earth-X is General Schott of the Freedom Fighters who oppose the Dark Arrow and his Nazi forces by any means necessary.
