Woodlock & Rainsong are the parents of Newstar, Wing, & Mender. They are an exemplification of fertility. The elves of their world are “an endangered species” and therefore family is highly prized. Woodlock has a great contempt towards the humans, and along with Dart decides to stay in the serene and isolated Sun Village when the rest of the Wolfriders seek out a new forest holt. Thus, he is a simple example of cultural mixing in the elfQuest saga.
