Origin
Carl Denti was an FBI agent who accumulated government records on mutants and stockpiled the weapons and other technology of the X-Men’s primary foes to bring to punish renegade or murderous mutants. He often came into opposition of some of the X-Men themselves because of their crimes. During his term as a dealer of justice, he took on the guise of the X-Cutioner.
Creation
X-Cutioner was created by Scott Lobdell and first appeared in Uncanny X-Men Annual issue 17 (1993).
Major Story Arcs
X-Cutioner
After he became head of the U.S. Superhuman Investigations Team, and assisted Elysian Enterprises in in the search for military artifacts. It was then that he came into contact with Remy during his thefts from Elysian for the New Son.
During his time under New Sun, he found he was becoming as evil as those he hunted. This also ended his time as the X-Cutioner.
The Initiative
Denti was being considered as a “potential recruit” for the Initiative program, according to Civil War: Battle Damage Report.
Return
The original X-Cutioner returned as an enemy of the new Marauders team.
Powers and Abilities
As the X-Cutioner, Carl Denti uses highly advanced weapons and technology, include Z’nox sensors, Sentinel propulsion units for flight, Shi’ar body armor that increases his strength and durability, a personal force field, a teleportation unit, and various other weapons from other alien races and organizations. The Z’nox sensors allow Denti to see into the infrared spectrum, measure vital signs, and analyze DNA.
The X-Cutioner’s main weapon is a Shi’ar power lance that can use the mental energy of the wielder to project blasts of psionic energy, causing great damage to both organic and inorganic objects.
