Origin
Yog-Sothoth is an Outer God in the stories of H.P. Lovecraft and other authors. Yog-Sothoth is linked with all of time and space, but is sealed outside of the universe that humans inhabit. In Through the Gates of the Silver Key, Yog-Sothoth is described as an All-in-One and One-in-All of limitless being and self, allied to the essence of existence.
Appearance
According to the stories The Horror in the Museum and The Lurker at the Threshold, Yog-Sothoth appears in this dimension as a congeries of iridescent globes “stupendous in its malign suggestiveness”, from which it extrudes tentacles, eyes, mouths or whatever the need of the moment requires. In Lovecraft’s 1928 story The Dunwich Horror, its spawn appear as an invisible mass of feelers, legs, eyes, stalked organs, and tentacles, made visible only for a second by the use of a magic powder. Kenneth Grant, an occultist who appears to take all this a lot more seriously than is good for him, says Yog-Sothoth is a manifestation of the darkest part of the psyche. Grant describes it as a gangrenous shade of green. with no upper skull at all, only a bloated mass that is its maggot-festering, naked brain, a madly gazing, giant’s “Cyclops” eye ringed by octopoid palpi and shark teeth above a warty tyrannosaurus-like body covered in muck.

Aforgomon was worshiped as the God of Time by many cultures due to its power to manipulate time and space. He is usually shrouded in a mysterious, blinding light and only shows himself to those who anger him.

, he looks over the halls beyond the Gate of the Silver Key and the Ancient Ones within. He looks like a man underneath a shimmering veil. Fortunately for humans, he does not drive insane those who look upon him.

Powers and Abilities
The god is omniscient and all-seeing and gaining favor with the entity can give one incredible and vast knowledge. However, the entity is so powerful that merely seeing it or learning too much about its existence would drive one insane and create disaster. In order to please Yog-Sothoth it is said by many that human sacrifice or lifetime commitment to its worship are required. Yog-Sothoth is, however, weaker than Azathoth.
