Origin
Zanzibar is the prized zombie fighter belonging to Barnum. He is seen locked away in Central City Zoo, as Barnum describes him as being both “naturally aggressive” and that Zanzibar “hardly needed any training”.
Mayor Chandrake wanted to use Zanzibar as the main entertainment for his private party, but Barnum’s colleagues managed to convince him otherwise by lying about his general fitness and availability to go into the ring at that time.

Zanzibar was created by writer and zombie horror director George A. Romero and artist Alex Maleev.
