Origin
Zeref Dragneel is the older brother of Fairy Tail Wizard Natsu Dragneel. Due to a dragon attack when he was little Zeref’s entire family died excluding himself.
Zeref decided to join the Mildian Magic Academy and began to research the connections between Life, Death and Magic. However, due to his research going against the will of the god Ankhseram he was cursed with a magic that whenever he would hold any regard for life; everything around him would die and the more he held any regard for life; the larger the effect of the magic.
In a desperate attempt to end his life, Zeref began creating demons in the hopes that one would be strong enough to beat him which he all housed in the book of E.N.D. His efforts lead to the creation of the ultimate demon which he believed was capable of defeating him, E.N.D.; Etherious Natsu Dragneel; which was made with the preserved body of his younger brother Natsu.
Powers & Abilities
- Ankhseram Black Magic: Zeref gained this magic by being cursed by the God Ankhseram. Some spells he used are:
- Death Predation: This magic kills everyone in the vicinity of Zeref.
- Stygian Blast Circle: This is a black flame that gathers in Zeref hand which he strikes his opponents with.
- Living Magic: This is the magic Zeref used to give life to the demons in the book of E.N.D. With it he created the following demons:
- Seilah
- E.N.D.(Etherious Natsu Dragneel)
- Tempester
- Kyôka
- Franmalth
- Larcade Dragneel
- Ezel
- Keyes
- Torafuzar
- Deliora
- Yakdoriga
- Jackal
- Mard Geer Tartaros
- Time Manipulation: Zeref Used this ability during the Tartaros Arc when he wanted to talk to Natsu.
- Enchantments: Zeref used enchantments to give the human-turned-dragon Irene the physical appearance of a human.
- Fire Magic: Zeref used fire magic to burn the tome of Mard Geer.
- Immortality: Due to being cursed by the God Ankhseram Zeref cannot die. Any injuries he sustains will be gone within minutes no matter how severe. However he theorized that the power of the dad might be strong enough to kill him; though this has not been shown to be true.
