Ziggy Pig

Creation

Ziggy Pig was a comic character published by Timely Comics, Marvel Comic’s predecessor, during the ‘funny animal’ craze in the 1950’s, created by Al Jaffee. Like Pudgy Pig, Ziggy looks like the Porky Pig from Warner Bros.

He most often teamed-up with his friend Silly Seal. After this craze had ended, Ziggy Pig was hardly ever seen again, except for a small few images or references of the character. Ziggy Pig made a return in 1989 when his image (which by that time had gone into public domain) appeared in the film Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure as the logo of the restaurant where Napoleon had a birthday party.
