Major Story Arcs
Zipporah appears in the series Ragman Cry of the Dead and meets Rory Regan shortly after he has left Gotham to move to Louisiana, she is a young, beautiful and buxom woman who draws his attention easily. Through out much of the series she attempts to gain his love, even trying to cast a spell to have him think of her more (it is not specified if the spell ever works, it could be Rory’s suit of souls protected him). The pair eventually fall in love. They share a bed and some romance but Zipporah deals in powerful magic with little concern for the consequences of her actions. Her charms, incantations and invocations draw the attention of the Loa Marinette and Marinette uses Zipporah’s magic to first find bodies to possess. Later the goddess Marinette possesses Zipporah’s form to use against Ragman as his suit and powers are the only thing standing between her and massacring much of Louisiana. Ragman, with the help of Legba and other voodoo mystics, is able to defeat Marinette and free Zipporah but all too late as the possession and exorcism weakened her body to the point of near death. On the brink of death, Zipporah asked Rory to absorb her soul into his suit so they could be together but he did not, so that her soul could be free. Zipporah was the third woman Rory Regan ever loved romantically (and according to him, the third he betrayed).
Powers & Abilities
Despite her carefree attitude towards magic, Zipporah shows some aptitude as she is able to create charms, has some powers of necromancy and can act as conduit for powerful magical beings. She is also good at simple trickery as she is able to use her beauty and amateur acting to trick some into paying for services regardless of any magic she intends to use or not.
