Kroma

People used to roam the world freely. They believed in the King of Colors, sitting on a throne in the mountains and making the colorful world around them, such as rainbows and sunsets. Then came a man, most greedy and arrogant amongst humans, who wanted more. So he invented a new color. The King of Color felt betrayed and sent a plague of lizards upon mankind to eradicate them. For generations, man was prey and ran from the lizards. The lizards were attracted to colors, so mankind learned to live in black and white and made their stronghold, the Pale City.

Tara had a secret affair with the ruler of the Pale City, the Makavi. Tara became pregnant and soon she gave birth to Kroma, who was born with colored eyes. In a world where color meant a certain death, Kroma was remade into the daughter of the King of Colors. Tara was hung for birthing Kroma and Kroma was made into a monster to teach the citizens of the Pale City about why they should fear colors.

On one such occasion, a young boy named Zet discovered there was a girl beneath the clothes of the monster. He befriended her, which cost him his life. Kroma escaped the city and ran into the wilderness surrounding the Pale City. Hunted by Damog and other hunters, she was rescued by a man named Soristo. He took her to his hideout, where he revealed to have been a former magistrate in the Pale City. He also told her how to manipulate the giant lizards. Then he turned on her, claiming he was banished from the Pale City because of her. Because he had questioned her heritage as the daughter of the King of Colors. Kroma overpowered and killed Soristo.

Back into the wilderness, she discovered not only how to manipulate the giant lizards but also how to control them. Because the lizards were attracted to color, they saw likeness in Kroma when she had accidentally cut open her forehead. The giant lizards then thought she was one of them.

With the lizards, she attacked the Pale City to confront the Makavi about her heritage. He told her that she was his daughter, born out of a secret affair. After telling her the truth, the Makavi cut his own throat, knowing his scheme was up. Kroma then gave all her discoveries to Jun, a friend of Zet, to lead mankind into a new age.
