Akari, Takashi and Haruto have all been friends since early childhood and thus enjoy a strong bond and insights into one another’s personalities. While Haruto is more prone to confiding in Takashi, perhaps because they’ve known one another longer, or simply because they’re both male, Akari generally shows better insight and can offer better advice.
Akari has rather a bright and cheerful disposition, and tends to make friends quickly as well as pass through bad moods swiftly. This was not always the case however, as prior to meeting Takashi and Haruto, she was somewhat abrasive and defensive, and thought she neither wanted nor needed friends. It is somewhat implied that being mixed race made other children her age less prone to mixing with her, which in turn made her quite defensive. Her relationship with Haruto and Takashi was initially antagonistic, but once they became friends her overall personality became brighter.
