Ben Skywalker is the son of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade Skywalker. He holds the rank of Jedi Knight. From an early age he showed skill, but as he grew up he was constantly thrust into wars, namely the Yuuzhan Vong war. He was trained by his cousin, Jacen Solo, until Jacen was turned by Lumiya and fell to the dark side, becoming the immensely powerful Darth Caedus. Jacen tried to make Ben his Sith apprentice by employing Yuuzhan Vong technology to torture him and by placing him in prison. Ben did not turn, though, and escaped GAG prison. Later, Jacen died at the hands of his sister, Jaina Solo.
After the conclusion of the Vong war and the Galactic Alliance‘s turmoil, Ben set out on a journey with his father, who was exiled from Coruscant for failing to stop Jacen’s turn to the dark side, to see what had made Jacen into a Sith. Along the way, they uncovered a planet of Sith, and ended up allying with them. They took a Sith prisoner, a girl Ben’s age named Vestara Khai, and both developed affection for each other, and Luke worried of the harm that such a relationship would create. Eventually, they traveled into the Maw, and the Sith and Jedi confronted an incredibly powerful dark side being named Abeloth, who was turning Jedi mad, making them think that everyone was an impostor. It took both of them to kill Abeloth, giving the mad Jedi a cure.
