Brahmanes is the mother of a glorious planet in the Macroverse. Her consciousness is linked not only to all living things on her planet but to all living things in the universe.

But she suffers in misery, for that is the price of isolation. She shares in the misery of all living things on all worlds.

When she meets the Silver Surfer, she attacks him and makes him experience this suffering. He can no longer handle it and she releases him. Subconsciously, the Surfer had asked to experience this. This reminds the Surfer why he does what he does and gives him the drive to once again attempt to escape the Macroverse and save Alicia Masters.
