Origin
In 1871, Connecticut James Turner was a banker for his father’s business, but then he discovered he had consumption, and doctor’s only advise was to head out west where the dry air would help his condition. Which he did, and became a western cowboy, shooting anyone who got in his way, and making love to anyone who let him. in 1875 Nevada, James, now called Coin Countr Turner was robbing a train when the Lawman Wyatt Billings go the drop in him. Turner almost got away but a coughing spell from his illness knocked him unconscious. When he came to, he was in a hospital bed being watched over by Billings. Turner thanked Billings for watching over him and then died.
Death was only the beginning of Turner’s story, as he went to Hell and became a gun for hire. This is where he met Isaiah Jefferson and got a chance at redemption and a second chance at life.
Creation
Coin Counter Turner was created by Ben Kahn and Bruno Hidalgo for their Scout Comics series Heavenly Blues. Turner first appeared in issue #2 and got his backstory in issue #5.
