Darkonda

Creation

Darkonda was originally created for the Japanese TV show Denji Sentai Megaranger in 1997 as a recurring villain between episodes 19-32. In Megaranger, the character was named Guirail and was a general in the Wicked Electric Kingdom Nezirejia.

When the show was adapted for western audiences as Power Rangers In Space, the character was renamed Darkonda. Unlike his Japanese counterpart, Darkonda had more of a direct impact on the overall story for the season.

Comic

Heir to Darkness

Darkonda and Ecliptor are sent to the planet KO-35 to retrieve the child known as Karone, capturing her and killing her parents while sparing her brother, Andros. Darkonda, explains to Ecliptor that Ecliptor himself is to raise the child as an apprentice on orders of Dark Specter, while Darkonda raises an apprentice of his own.

Several years later, their apprentices, Astronema and Divatox fight one another for the title of the Heir of Darkness. Only for Astronema to single-handedly beat DIvatox in combat, losing them the title.

Necessary Evil

Darkonda was spotted on the planet Breel after being invited to the planet by Queen Adriyel after she discovers the Morphin Empowered beings. However, Darkonda does not engage with the Omega Rangers that are present.
