On the planet Had Abbadon, Cade Skywalker and his allies planned to set a trap for Darth Krayt, they encountered Darth Reave, using the power of the Muur Talisman Celste Morne turned Darth Reave’s Stormtroopers into RakGhouls, and sent them after Darth Reave, who was bitten by one during the fight. Darth Reave escaped the battle and reported the incident to Darth Krayt, but the infection from the RakGhoul bite had taken full effect and Darth Reave turned into one himself and attacked Krayt who then killed the transformed Darth Reave with his lightsaber.
