Deadeye

Origin:

Saul Tewtal was the head of the toughest biker gang in the state of Nevada. Although they were feared by many outside of their area the town that they came from revered them as heroes. They were a no nonsense group who were always looking out for the “little” guy at any cost. They were family.

Then one day it happened: the Outpouring came to Earth. It was a quick flash that was there one moment and gone the next, but it changed Saul’s life drastically.

Saul looked over to his right hand man Jacob, and asked while starting to make eye contact, “What the…” and suddenly he feels overwhelmed by “some force” exiting his eyes. Saul takes a moment to regain his composure, and sees his friend Jacob on the ground, dead. The thing that is even scarier is the fact that it looks like Jacob’s eyes were burnt out of his head, and there is a black haze engulfing it.

Saul looks up immediately at Rodney, and starts to ask, “What happened to…” as he is interrupted by the force coming upon him again. This time, however, Saul realized what happened. The black haze was exiting his eyes and burning out the eyes of anyone who he was making eye contact with. He then quickly wakes up to the reality that Rodney is also dead.

Saul covers his eyes with his hands, and starts to shout, “How could this be happening, I have to wake up.”

After a pause of silence. He starts to hear mumbling from the rest of his men, “We should put him down now while we have a chance.”

Saul starts to hear the mob come towards him, and starts trembling at the decision that lies before him. Do I allow them to end my miserable existence, or do I fight back and kill them ALL. Saul then stands up enraged by the fact that they would turn on their leader, and opens his eyes.

The battle that followed was a short lived one. They tried valiantly to take him down, but in the end every one of their corpses had their eye sockets burnt out as the black haze engulfed the area. Saul then takes a moment to step back and realize what he had just done.

How could I have… No! They turned on me. I did not mean to kill Rodney or Jacob, but they did try to kill me. It was self defense. But they were helpless… Saul battles with himself for the better part of an hour when a Sheriff car on patrol pulls over.

The Sheriff jumps out of the car recognizing Saul, and aims his revolver, “What the heck happened here Saul? Do you have an explanation?”

Saul looks up at the Sheriff, and stares him in the eye. An emotionless expression forms on Saul’s face, as the Sheriff’s body hits the ground. Saul’s body starts to tremble for a moment, and then all grows still.

Eventually, the man formerly known as Saul then starts to to whisper, “If this is the hand that I have been dealt, then I will punish fate for its mistake.” Deadeye then looks around at all the carnage and completely hardens his heart.

“So be it,” Deadeye proclaims, as gets back onto his bike and rides away.
