In his first incarnation Demoniak was a scientist turned criminal in black suit, with an exceptional scientific genius but decidedly megalomaniac plans; Demoniak wants to create a super race to dominate the world. Helping Diabolik is his companion Eve. On his trail is the inspector Mant, trying to catch him with the help of a group of telepaths.
In the second volume of Demoniak his alter ego is Alex Gordon, president and majority shareholder of a large research company. His archenemy is Inspector Carter.
