Doctor Sorrow claims to be a spiritualist with the ability to contact dead spirits. He uses chicanery and technology with the assistance of his Aids to pull off the illusion.
When Mr. Leonard realizes the image of Mrs. Leonard, his deceased wife, is a farce, he storms out of the seance. Sorrow’s henchmen catch him and murder Mr. Leonard.
Detective Speed is called to look into the claims made by Doctor Sorrow. With Richy the Amazing Boy and Rang-a-Tang in tow, he discovers the high-tech tricks used by Sorrow and confronts the sham spiritualist. Doctor Sorrow attempts to drive away in his car and escape, but he didn’t foresee the tree that he ran into. Sorrow dies of his injuries from the crash.
