Douwe Dabbert is a small gnome- like old man. He has a magic knapsack that always gives him what he needs. He inherited the knapsack from his grandfather who, as Dabbert usually says ‘Could do a bit of magic’.
His magic knapsack only answers to Dabbert, when someone else looks trough it they usually find it empty or full of sand or mud.
Dabbert travels the world with his knapsack and always finds himself getting into adventures often fighting other magical beings, in a nice and orderly fashion.
The series started in 1975 and was created by Thom Roep and Piet Wijn.
