Fruit Boy was one of several recruits from the United Planets to join the Legion of Super-Heroes, but because of his limited powers he was quickly rejected by Legion leader Lightning Lad.He was then recruited to be a part of the United Planets Young Heroes, but this team met with disastrous results.
