HISTORY
Mr. Vandermeer married a chorus girl, producing two offspring. The wealthy, disapproving father of Vandermeer won custody of the toddlers, inducing suicide in Mrs. Vandermeer and causing the son to allegedly go insane and actually disappear.
The grandfather Vandermeer home catches fire, causing Gail Steele much concern. Detective Speed arrives with Rang-a-Tang. The canine rescues one child from the fire, yet the other cannot be found. Gail relays the story of the children’s father, leading Hy Speed to investigate. The investigation leads to a cabin in Canada. Assisted by a captain of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Hy and Gail track the child’s kidnapper, Pierre, to a cabin. Pierre and his wife are overtaken along with their accomplice. Mr. Vandermeer and his son are freed from being held captive Pierre. Mr. Vandermeer explains Pierre’s blackmail plot against the grandfather.
