CX-27 shows up on Dan Hastings planetoid asking for help. Despite the lieutenant’s wariness, she pulls a gun on him and forces him to stand by while she searches for secret transport lines Hastings had assisted Major Topping with.
After she discovers what she is looking for, she forces Dan into a room and imprisons him there. He manages to escape, deciding to go after her spaceship. He finds the large craft with his own rocketship and disables it, forcing it to a small planet. He locates her ship and lands, seeing her alight from the wrecked ship. He soon discovers Gronsky and his gang attacking him. After he defeats the gang, CX-27 explains that she is a government agent who discovered Gronsky’s intentions and set out to aid the lieutenant. She further informs him that it was not her whom Dan saw after he shot down the rocketship, but a Gronsky gang member of slight build whom Gronsky had put on the dress of CX-27 to fool the lieutenant.
