Helios

Origin

Helios is the child of two powerful Highborns. As a child he was powerless, until his flaming powers kicked in and he accidently killed a rabbit. From then on, people began to shun him. The loneliness and desperation didn’t turn him to evil however.

Upon seeing a beautiful woman bathing in a lake, he traveled to the lair of the Frost Giant‘s king Ymir, who took pity on Helios’ tale and allowed him access to the frozen waters to cool his flaming body. He gave the woman an ice rose which would never wilt or melt. But every night Helios had to return to the icy waters to cool him off. He couldn’t tell the woman where he went for fear of losing her.

One day, she hid herself in his chariot to see where he went. In the frozen world of Ymir, Helios discovered her in his chariot, half-frozen to death. He raced her home and tended for her. One evening, she asked him to stay by her side. He accidently fell asleep beside her, waking up to her burned body. His mind was shattered beyond repair. The following months Helios wandered the lands of Myst, leaving behind a path of destruction. Until the Council of the Five Realms, led by Thane, used ancient magic and the Sunstone of Ra to trap Helios inside the sun. The Sunstone of Ra was shattered into three pieces and his amongst the realms.
