Overview

Jessica Rabbit is the beautiful humanoid Toon wife of Roger Rabbit. In the “Roger Rabbit” reality, animated cartoon characters are fully-dimensional living beings called Toons and exist alongside human beings. Despite her human-like appearance, Jessica shares the same unique characteristics of all Toons: She is virtually impervious to lasting harm or injury by conventional means (the sole exception being a powerful acidic substance known as “Dip,” which is lethal to Toons), and she possesses an high degree of elasticity, her curvaceous Toon body being far more flexible and malleable than that of a normal human.
Jessica appears in both the book and movie adaptation of “Who Censored Roger Rabbit”. In the book, Jessica is an amoral, up-and-coming star and former comic character, over whom her estranged husband, comic strip star Roger Rabbit often obsessed. In the film ” Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, Jessica is re-imagined in the as a sultry, but moral, cartoon singer at a Los Angeles night club known as “The Ink and Paint Club”. Here, she is one of several suspects in the framing of her husband, who is also famous cartoon star. One of Jessica’s most famous lines is when she claims to Eddie Valiant, “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.” Jessica also notes that she deeply loves her husband Roger mainly because he makes her laugh.
