Marianne

Not every Guardian of the Republic seems to have had a ‘Marianne’ backing them up, but the most prolific one before Alima seemed to be a young Parisian named Jeanne who aided that era’s Guardian (Marc Saint-Clair) amidst the Nazi-occupation of France in World War II.

The latest woman to be chosen is young Alima Berzaim, a streetwise youth who helped the current Guardian (Maxim Saint-Clair) stop a plot by the dastardly crime syndicate CRIMEN. She proved more than capable of handling herself in tight situations, and was even shown to be quite formidable, combat-wise. After aiding the stalwart hero, young Alima was chosen to be the Guardian’s partner. A role she happily accepted.
