Pearl Tanaka is a Japanese-American woman living in San Francisco, CA. She is afflicted with albinism. A tattoo artist, Tanaka makes enough to give the American Yakuza a kickback. While out with a friend, she encounters a fellow tattooist called Rick Araki, who has earned the enmity of the Yakuza. Tanaka interferes with their attempt to kill him and ends up forced to become an assassin for the Yakuza in order to keep the peace.
