Rachel Dawes was one of Bruce Wayne‘s closest friend. They both know each other since their childhood. Rachel’s mother worked as an employee at Wayne Manor until his parent’s tragic death.
Creation
Rachel Dawes was created as a love interest of Batman by Christopher Nolan. She first appeared in the movie Batman Begins (2005) and was portrayed by the actress Katie Holmes. In the Movie The Dark Knight (2008) Rachel was portrayed by the actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. In The Dark Knight, Rachel was the girlfriend of Harvey Dent before he became Two-Face.
