Rie Kasukabe

An Angel sent to prevent Princess Lucia and Yuta from conceiving a child together. She is kind-natured.

Origin

Rie, also known as Gabriel, is an angel sent to watch over the boy Yuta Koizumi, whose birthdate lines up as a perfect line of Sixes, and thus is foretold to create an all-powerful demon if he conceives a child with a demon woman. Rie watches over Yuta for the first thirteen years of his life, and enrolls at his school as a human girl to help keep an eye on him when he enters middle-school.

Creation

Rie is a character from Seo Kouji’s Princess Lucia manga, and one of the main characters. She first appears in the first chapter.

Personality

She is known as a kind, and caring girl, who is generally very patient and understanding. Rie is reserved, perhaps to the point of being a bit inhibited. For most of her life, Rie has believed what she has been taught about demons, that they are evil beings that should not be trusted. However, having spent time with Lucia she doesn’t find her to be truly wicked, and has changed her stance on demonkind. She is romantically interested in Yuta, loving him for his kindness, but refrains from acting on these feelings. While seemingly more professional than her partner El, Rie can be quite prone to letting her personal feelings or her compassion supersede her objective.

Rie also bears a secret – the glasses she wears aren’t just a decoration or a seeing aid, but are actually an inhibiting device that keeps emotions that an angel may find undesirable in check. Without them, feelings like envy and lust run uncontested, and she is generally far less inhibited. This second personality also seems more violent.

Powers and abilities

Rie can fly using her wings, which are normally hidden. She can also put people in a large radius to sleep and can erase portions of humans memories as well. She has been stated to have destroyed cities in the past, so she may have as yet-unrevealed destructive powers.
