Ryakar is a Black Demon and a former member of the space-time police of the Black Dimension. In the 16th century Ryakar was summoned to Earth by John Dee, who summoned and enslaved him using the power of the Black Mirror he stole from Nikolaus. Ryakar, forced to serve him, worked as his spy and killer for years, until, one day, John Dee caused a fire in his library in a fit of rage while he was going to send Ryakar back to his world. Ryakar took the chance to steal the mirror and flee away. From that moment he lived a pacific life running a pub in England, pretending to be a human called Jake Ryker. Harlan met him when he was searching the Black Mirror, in order to save Tesla from Samael‘s clutches. Ryakar then became a close friend of Harlan, and the two helped each other on many occasions.
