The pipe-smoking Jim Masters is a Stores Sergeant in the British Expeditionary Force in France in May 1940. As the war heats up, his calm experience is all that keeps his squad alive.
He and his squad are transferred to North Africa in 1941, fighting Rommel’s army there until 1943. Starting in Battle Picture Weekly #153 – Battle 153 they are part of the Allied invasion of Sicily.
