Origin
Originally a criminal in Harlem, The Conjurer suddenly received mysterious magical powers. Soon after he fell in love, and decided to become a hero. His girlfriend was kidnapped by his archenemy, Aiguillon, who designed a complex death trap from which Conjurer was able to escape, but at the cost of revealing his identity to his girlfriend. Angry at the foolish risks he was taking with his life, she left him, thus fulfilling Aiguillon’s death trap by killing the Conjurer in the eyes of those he loves. He later learned that Aiguillon had been training him all along. He eventually fought for and secured the title of World Mage
Creation
The Conjurer was created by Lilah Sturges and Luca Rossi. He made his first appearance in House of Mystery #37.
Major Story Arcs
House of Mystery
The Conjurer approaches the newly-created House of Mystery under Lotus Blossom. There, he tells the story of his origin. When he indicates that he knows Lotus Blossom is the source of the disturbances in reality she attacks him, and he is overwhelmed. He flees, and goes to join Cain, Every1, and M. Emory in their cabal to prevent the universe from collapsing. He joins in the assault on Lotus Blossom, and is killed by Strawberry Keele. He is later restored to life when Fig Keele rewrites reality.
Powers and Abilities
The Conjurer is a magician of great power and skill. He is also a competent fighter. He is able to speak the language of reptiles.
