Trigger Quick

When Rang-a-Tang returns to Hollywood with Detective Speed and Richy the Amazing Boy, the group witnesses a bank robbery. Speed uses his revolver to subdue some of the mobsters, throwing the empty weapon at a thug to save Richie from being shot.After picking up Detective Hy Speed’s pistol, Brains McGee escapes, thanks in part to a fainting woman named Linda Lane. Linda is unemployed and hungry. As Rang, Richie, and Hy are leaving, Trigger Quick jokingly makes a shooting jester at their car with his finger. Hy pulls Trigger to the side of the street, where Mr. Quick states that he was helping Brains to pull a fake robbery as a joke. After it’s explained that Brains actually did rob the bank and leave Trigger to take the rap, Quick is confused at the betrayal.

Brains goes to the studio for Mammoth films, where he hopes to ambush Detective Speed. Going into the casting office, he knocks out the casting director, Perkins and takes his place. Linda shows up to apply for a position, but Brains threatens to kill her. She escapes, explaining to the arriving Detective Speed that the casting director’s murderous intentions. Brains drags the body of the unconscious Perkins and pours whiskey all over it before crawling out the window.

When Detective Speed enters the office, he finds the unconscious Perkins smelling of alcohol and out cold. He goes outside to inform the police of the casting director’s condition. Brains uses Hy’s pistol to shoot Perkins through the window before tossing it into the room. The police discover the body and the weapon, arresting Hy for the murder.

Trigger Quick spots Brains McGee on the lot and introduces the gangster to Richie and Rang, who quickly subdue him and turn him over to the police. After he’s released from jail, Detective Hy Speed and Linda Lane walk off for seemingly romantic rendezvous to the dismay of Richie and the mocking delight of Trigger Quick.
