A Chitauri warlord who was tasked with recovering a stolen Chitauri Warship and killing the enslaved gladiators on board and Nova who helped them escape.
After fighting and losing once to Nova, Warbringer decided to destroy Earth as punishment for his actions. Sam teamed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Beta Ray Bill and the Avengers in order to protect the Earth and succeeded. Sam then fought Warbringer throughout the entire universe until they landed near the Sun. Sam tried to save Warbinger from being pulled in, but failed and presumed him dead.
Later, a Chitauri ship orbited the Sun and retrieved their “fallen” leader’s body. Slowly Warbinger started to heal from his burns, but with the new belief that he lives to kill Nova.
