Yuuko Sagiri

Origin

Yuuko Sagiri is a talented surgeon at Mochizuki General Hospital, along with her best friend Miki Tsurugi. Shes also a member of Dr. Mochizuki’s secret vigilante group called Black Label as member of Team Ampoule Zero.

Creation

Yuuko Sagiri (????, Sagiri Y?ko) is a main character in the Triage X series that was created by Shoji Sato. It began serialization as a bi-monthly series in Fujimi Shobo’s Monthly Dragon Age in 2009.

Her first appearance was in Triage X Volume 1 CH. 1 “CASE: 1 Hell’s Prescription I – Cross of Fresh Blood”.

Character Evolution

Yuuko’s personality is more often aloof and carefree, but she is deathly serious about her medical practice. Her voluptuous body along with her looks garners her a lot of attention from both genders. She brings a dedication to her vigilante activities as she does to her medical practice. She prides herself on being able to kill so efficiently as to cause no pain.

Far a as of yet unexplained reason, Yuuko’s hair will change to white when she uses her sword to fight. This requires her hair to be dyed back after every sword fight.

Major Story Arcs

CASE 1: Hell’s Prescription

Yuuko and Miki Tsurugi worked as only support and observation in the first mission of Arashi Mikami. They returned to Mochizuki Hospital for a surgery, then the meeting to formally welcome Arashi into Black Label.

CASE 2: Surgical Strike

Team Ampoule One returned from the next mission with the hostage that the target had been torturing. Yuuko and Miki interrogated Miss Fujino using Miki’s special medicine. They were hoping to find if she had any information on the bank books that her father was going to hand over to the police. She didn’t have any information. That same day, Granny Kimura, Yuuko’s former patient, came to visit her to say thanks, but she was run over by a car just outside the hospital She had been hit by thugs hired by Jin Masaki to abduct Miss Fujino as she left the hospital. Yuuko declared Granny Kimura dead outside, then asked Sayo Hitsugi to assist her in what she had planned.

Once Masaki had been found, the entire Black Label team went in to finish off Masaki and his entire gang of hired thugs. Yuuko directed the mission as she slaughtered the gangsters with her swords, then she found Yoroida, the man who ran over Granny Kimura. He tried to run over Yuuko, she leapt out of the way, then he ran his car into Sayo and her shield. The recoil of the impact shot him back and into the air. Yuuko slid underneath, then sliced by Yoroida and his car in half with one swing of her sword. They relaxed in the bath after the mission, but Arashi declined Sayo’s invitation to join them.

CASE 3: Midnight Guerrilla

Just as a female arsonist was killing off Black Label’s targets, Shinichiro Inunaki, a former Black label, member appeared with video evidence of Arashi and Mikoto killing Jin Masaki. Yuuko and Miki were present as Inunaki used this information to get money from Dr. Mochizuki. Days later, Yuuko was on the phone as Sayo was investigating the weapons the female arsonist was using, but Yuuko left her massage after Sayo mentioned spotting Inunaki. Yuuko arrived at Sayo’s location and advised her on how to escape just as she slaughtered the thugs that Inunaki was planning meeting.

Miki contacted Sayo and the rest of Black Label when she learned that Mikoto had gone rogue after a leader of the Kabuto Syndicate. They arrived just in time to assist Mikoto and take out the snipers Kunio Ohmichi had placed. They could only watch as Mikoto fought along with the arsonist, Chikage Hizaki.

Side Chapter: Color Way Up North

Yuuko and Miki went along up north t eliminate Senzen Komine, the leader of a growing fanatical cult. Though he evaded them once, Yuuko caught up to him, killed his guards, then sliced him in half as Miki took care of his followers. They later went to rest in a traditional style Japanese inn, but Miki ended up getting very drunk and complaining about her need to find a man.

Powers & Abilities

Yuuko is a human with a unique level of skill that seems to defy normal human ability. One of the most mysterious things about her is that her hair will change white when she begins to fight with her sword. To date, there is no explanation for this change.

Swordsmanship

Yuuko is a skilled sword fighter who uses a specialized katana. It’s unknown where she received her training, but she wields this sword with the same level of skill she has with a scalpel. She’s always sure toe strike with her sword in such a way that the target will die painlessly. Using her skill, she has been shown to cleave through flesh, bone, and even cut a car in half with a single strike.

Intellect

On top of being a famed doctor at the air of twenty-eight, Yuuko is a highly educated woman. Her knowledge in medicine science gives her a depth of knowledge in how the human body works, and she can use this to be an incredibly efficient killer.

Agility

Along with her swordsmanship skills, Yuuko has shown an impressive level of agility,. She can leap and evade attacks of her opponent to give her an opening to slice them with her sword. She has been shown to avoid gunfire and a speeding car.

Marksmanship

Though Yuuko uses mainly balded weapons, she is skilled enough to use throwing knives and accurately hit her target while throwing more than one at a time. She prefers to aim for the head to deliver a quick kill.

Weapons & Equipment

The Black Label teams use almost exclusively custom weapons made specifically for them. This is to ensure they can’t be easily traced back to them. Yuuko’s weapon specialty is in edged weapons.

Katana

Yuuko’s preferred weapon is a katana style of sword. Both the sheath and the handle are white, and the Black Label logo is stamped on the sheath along with the name “Orochi”. The blade itself is slightly curved, but the alloy makeup of the sword is unknown. It has been shown to be strong enough to cut through the entire body of a car.

Throwing Knives

On some occasions, Yuuko will use some throwing knives to quickly dispatch some targets. More often to kill the bodyguards of the intended target by throwing them into the head.
