Eddie Valiant

Origin

Edward Valiant and his brother, Theodore were the sons of a famous circus clown. They went into business together as private detectives called Valiant & Valiant to solve cases for Toons. Until, Judge Doom murders Teddy by dropping a piano on his head during the robbery of Toon Town’s First National Bank. This tragedy left Eddie with a hatred against Toons (except for Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Betty Boop, and Tweety), as well as becoming an alcoholic and disappearing from the public eye.

Major Story Arcs

In 1947, Eddie Valiant was hired by R.K. Maroon to take photographs of Marvin Acme having an affair with Jessica Rabbit at the Ink & Paint Club as a blackmail scheme. This drove Roger Rabbit into thinking being betrayed by his own wife. When Acme got killed in the Acme Factory, everyone believes that Roger did it due to fits of jealously. While receiving some clues from Baby Herman, Eddie saw Acme’s will in a picture he took, finds Roger in his office, and helps exonerate him. At Maroon Cartoons, Maroon confesses to Eddie about Cloverleaf Industries buying his studio before Judge Doom shoots him on sight. During a long fight between the two, he found out Doom is actually an evil, but murderous Toon himself. After Doom’s defeat, Eddie finally avenged the death of Teddy, gave up drinking, and shows love/respect towards Toons again.

Skills and Equipment

Eddie Valiant has extensive knowledge of Toon culture and rules, as well as superb detective skills. He can access to cartoon-based equipment, such as portable holes or a boxing glove mallet.
