Steve Stacey works as a sky detective for the Civil Aeronautics Authority, training pilots at the state university. Investigating mysterious deaths of student pilots with the help of Joyce Barton, the pair uncover a plot engineered by Professor Schultz, who teaches German at the university. His henchmen Greasy, a mechanic at the airport, sabotages the airplanes to murder pilots in training and keep them from joining the war effort.
